Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations: Navigate ER cases with expertise—manage absences, performance, discipline, and grievances, attending hearings as an advisor and note-taker.
  • HR Consultancy: Provide strategic advice and support to line managers on all HR matters, from policies to performance management.
  • Talent Acquisition: Lead the recruitment process—advertise roles, conduct interviews, and handle pre-employment checks with finesse.
  • Compliance Champion: Ensure all employee checks, including DBS and Right to Work, meet legal standards.
  • Probation Oversight: Guide managers through the probationary process, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • HRIS Management: Maintain impeccable employee records on the HRIS (Cascade).
  • Sickness & Absence: Manage sickness cases, including Occupational Health referrals.

About You

  • Qualifications: CIPD Level 5.
  • Experience: Proven HR generalist background, adept in manual work environments.
  • Skills: Stellar communication, strong organizational prowess, and tech-savvy with MS Office and HRIS.
  • Desirable: Experience in the waste industry, TUPE transfers, and working with Trade Unions.
