Our client is a small company that manufactures healthy food products. They are looking for a company accountant to cover all of the essential tasks as well as getting more involved in the finances of the company, assisting the directors with accounting information and analysing financial data for projections.
For this reason, they are looking for someone who is sharp, confident, and has the desire to make a difference. You will also be a competent user of MS Excel.
Main areas of responsibility:
- The creation of financial transactions including posting information to accounting journals or accounting software from source data such as customer invoices, cash receipts, and supplier invoices.
- Reconciling accounts to ensure accuracy.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Process quarterly VAT returns
- Maintain monthly EC sales list
- Manage Intrastat information and submit declarations where required
- Process PAYE Payments
- Compile National Office of Statistics data as requested
- Prepare annual and quarterly cash flow forecasts
- Assist with budget monitoring
- Prepare management accounts
- Entering stock builds
- Assisting with stock balancing (adjustments)
Experience/Personal Qualities:
- Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) – essential
- An accounting certificate – essential
- Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles - essential
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team – essential
- Good standard of written and spoken English – essential
- Working knowledge of Quick Books Accounting Software - desirable
This role will initially be part-time - three days per week. Salary dependent on experience and is pro rata. All applicants MUST have a full UK driving licence.
