Key Responsibilities of a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer:
- Achieve Production Targets: Ensure production targets are consistently met every shift.
- Manage Procedures and Prioritise Safety: Oversee operating procedures, always prioritising safety.
- Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular PPM maintenance to keep equipment in optimal condition.
- Troubleshoot Issues: Identify and resolve technical problems efficiently.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Implement strategies for ongoing process and performance enhancement.
- Repair Equipment and Automated Machinery: Maintain and repair equipment and automated systems to ensure smooth operations.
- Document and Report Issues: Accurately document and report any issues encountered during shifts.
- Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with other teams and departments to achieve production goals through effective communication and problem-solving.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Relevant engineering experience [Minimum NVQ Level 3], equivalent or transferrable skills.
- Full and legal rights to work in the UK. (We cannot sponsor or support VISA applicants at this time)
- Essential Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or related field.
- Previous experience as Multi Skilled Electrical / Mechanical Engineer with a strong technical knowledge in relevant fields.
- Familiarity with relevant safety procedures and regulations.
- Able to understand the importance and principles of an advanced Quality Management System.
- Experience in maintaining and repairing Machinery and Production equipment.
- Experience with industrial networks and control systems.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Experience of safely carrying out planned maintenance across a site ensuring maintenance procedures are followed.
- Be an integral part of the engineering team, responding to breakdowns establishing root cause analysis to limit breakdown reoccurring, improving machine reliability and performance.
- Willing to learn and adapt to role requirements.
- Hands-on ownership of issues.
- Experience of working well in a team within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability and willingness to work at height.
Desirable:
- Preferably Multi Skilled Electrical / Mechanical with a strong technical knowledge in relevant fields such as Mechanical, Electrical, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Ex forces Electrical / Engineer with BTEC/HNC/HND/C&G or Degree in Engineering or related field.
- Previous knowledge and understanding of the importance and relevance of a Quality Management System.
- Experience of updating records of tasks/spare parts used from store and work completed, using the CMMS system.
