The Role
/n
We are seeking a Design Coordinator to join our Contracts Team, as a key liaison between Architects & Designers and our sales, manufacturing, and installation teams. This is a pivotal role that ensures creative design intent is translated into technically feasible, beautifully executed product installations that meet client expectations and project deadlines.

You'll manage the full design coordination process: from early design consultation through to production planning, document control, and installation readiness, balancing creative vision with practical execution.

Key role and responsibilities
/n
• Work closely with the Sales and Estimating teams to engage with architects and interior designers, understanding and interpreting the initial design briefs and aesthetic intent.
/n
• Translate design concepts into technically feasible solutions in coordination with the Design, Production and Installation teams, ensuring production feasibility and on-site practicality.
/n
• Develop and refine design details, prepare technical drawings, maintain & update standard product range detail drawings and produce 2D & 3D CAD models as needed.
/n
• Interpret architectural drawings and construction plans, identifying design integration/interface points and site-specific constraints. Communicating project specific limitations/issues with the appropriate team managers.
/n
• Create production planning schedules aligned with project timelines, coordinating with in-house production and contracts installation teams.
/n
• Manage project document control and drawing registers. This will include use of Aconex, Procore, Adoddle + other document control sites. Responsible for document uploads, downloads, revisions, and submittals.

• Attend design meetings & site visits, take measurements and conduct production reviews as required.
/n
• Serve as the main point of contact for design-related queries during the project execution phase, providing technical support to site teams as required.
/n
• Ensure final designs meet both aesthetic and performance expectations, maintaining Armourcoat's standard of excellence.

Skills required
/n
• Proven experience in design coordination or technical design within architecture, interior design, or high-end fabrication/manufacturing.
/n
• Proficient in 3D CAD software (preferably Rhino); familiarity with other tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or SolidWorks a plus. Experience of visualization software such as Vray would also be beneficial.

• Ability to create and interpret architectural drawings and construction documents with accuracy.
/n
• Strong understanding of design detailing, form, scale, and material behaviour — previous experience in casting or moulded forms preferable.
/n
• Excellent planning and organisational skills, capable of managing multiple design workflows and deadlines.
/n
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills — able to collaborate well with creative, technical and site teams.
/n
• Previous experience with custom project work or bespoke manufacturing is highly desirable.
/n

Preferred Qualifications
/n
• Degree in Industrial Design, Architecture, Interior Architecture, or a related field.
/n
• Experience in decorative finishes, casting, sculpture, or materials-based design work is advantageous.
/n
• Familiarity with installation sequencing and on-site coordination.
/n
