Armitage Haulage International Ltd a family run company is seeking a dedicated and skilled Class 1 Tramper driver for a permanent position.
This role involves Monday to Friday with 4 nights delivering goods across various locations of the UK while ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial driving experience, particularly with curtainsided & flatbed trailers, and demonstrate a commitment to excellent service.
Armitage haulage runs a modern fleet of Volvo FH tractor units fully kitted with fridge microwave & inverter.
All trucks are kept to a very high standard.
Guaranteed salary Monday to Friday with the option to work Saturday or Sunday if desired.
Duties Operate Class 1 vehicles for the transportation of goods across designated routes.
Ensure timely delivery of products while adhering to all road safety regulations.
Conduct pre-journey checks on the vehicle to ensure it is roadworthy and safe to operate.
Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper securing of loads on vehicles.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage.
Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit.
Uphold the companys standards for customer service, representing Armitage Haulage Ltd professionally at all times.
Requirements Valid Class 1 driving licence with a clean driving record.
Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles, particularly with curtainsider and flatbed vehicles.
Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in logistics.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights away from home as required.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail in all aspects of the role.
