To drive minibuses operated by Armagh Rural Transport. To assist passengers to and from the vehicle. To input data onto driver app, to carry out daily checks of vehicles & to maintain vehicle cleanliness.

Responsibilities

  • To drive minibuses operated by Armagh Rural Transport.
  • To assist passengers to and from the vehicle when necessary, including the operation of the vehicles in board passenger lift.
  • To input data onto our Drivers’ Mobile App.
  • To carry out daily walk around checks on the vehicles, recording and immediately reporting any irregularities/defects to the appropriate office staff member.
  • To immediately record and report details of any accidents, incidents and near misses, however minor, to the appropriate office staff member.
  • To maintain vehicle cleanliness, both internal and external, on a regular basis.
  • Refuel vehicle as and when required.
  • To be familiar with and maintain all safety equipment and medical supplies fitted to the vehicle and to carry out safety checks as directed.
  • To report any comments or complaints from passengers to the Manager and/or Schedulers.
  • To take part in training and to adhere to agreed quality standards such as the Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (MiDAS).
  • To work within Armagh Rural Transport Health & Safety guidelines.
  • To undertake any other duties as deemed appropriate to the achievement of the purpose and function of this post.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A Current Category or D1 PCV Driving License with Driver CPC.
  • Be flexible to work evenings and weekends, as and when required.
  • Previous experience of driving a minibus.
  • Experience and/or understanding of dealing with people with disabilities.
  • Good knowledge of the Armagh area.

Further Information

Armagh Rural Transport Ltd provides Door-to-Door and Group Hire Transport services to individuals and group members residing in County Armagh. The company which is based in Armagh.

Work Time: This position is flexible, we are looking for someone who can work 1 to 21 hours per week, to be confirmed.
