Part Time (20 Hours) with a view to Full Time Permanent
Key Responsibilities
- Final
- Product
Inspection: Conduct thorough visual and tactile inspections of completed garments at the finishing stage to ensure they meet all design, measurement, and quality specifications.
- Stitching and
- Seam
Auditing: Meticulously check for construction defects, including skipped stitches, loose threads, uneven tension, and puckering, with a specific focus on technical stretch seams (flatlock, overlock).
- Fabric and
- Trim
Verification: Inspect finished garments for fabric flaws, shading issues, stains, or damage, while ensuring all trims and transfers are correctly placed and functional.
- Defect Logging and
Feedback: Document and categorize all rejects or reworks, providing clear, constructive feedback to the production and sewing teams to prevent recurring issues.
- Finishing Presentation: Ensure garments are properly trimmed of loose threads, correctly pressed/steamed, folded, and tagged according to retail packaging standards.
- Workplace
Safety: Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including the correct handling of finishing equipment (irons, steamers, tag guns) and compliance with factory safety policies.
Requirements
- Attention to Detail: An exceptional eye for detail with the ability to spot minor imperfections, colour variances, and measurement deviations quickly.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of garment construction, sports fabric behaviour (stretch and recovery), and common sewing defects.
- Physical Dexterity & Stamina: Excellent hand-eye coordination and the physical stamina required to stand, handle garments, and perform repetitive inspection tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Team Player: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with both the sewing floor and packaging teams.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience in quality control within an apparel manufacturing environment is preferred, though comprehensive training on specific brand standards will be provided.
