Our client is a £10m leading player in the Energy / Renewables / Sustainability sector, with ambitious plans to double its turnover in the next 3 - 5 years (WFH / remote working / occasional travel to London). As part of this growth, it is seeking a Head of Finance / Financial Controller to lead the finance function and provide financial insight within the Senior Management Team to aid decision-making and achieve the company goals.

Reporting to the CEO and working very closely with the operational teams, this role will involve:

  • Manage and develop a small finance team of 3 - 4 staff
  • Constant commercial input as a member of the Senior Management Team
  • Contribute to and review monthly management accounts and analysis
  • Manage the working capital and cashflow forecasting process
  • Work closely with project managers to track project profitability and WIP
  • Provide financial input into commercial bids and tenders
  • Enhance financial processes, where possible, using AI
  • Oversee year end audits, CIS, VAT, payroll and statutory reporting

This role will suit an accomplished qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ACMA) with proven experience at this level, or someone ready to step up into a Number One finance role. Project accounting experience is desirable as is the desire and ability to progress your career and rise to Finance Director level as the company grows.
