Business Development Support, Pontefract, salary £35,000 to £45,000 DOE, bonus, life assurance, pension, 25 days holiday + BH. Arlington Moore is working on behalf of a hugely successful company who continue to grow. They are now looking for an individual with strong administration skills to support the Business Development and Commercial team. This is a newly appointed role and a real opportunity for the right person. The role of Business Development Support will be to support the Business Development and Commercial team in its core administration and support activities. The Business Development Support will work across various projects, responsible for and not exclusive to, assisting with the administration of bids and tenders; compiling initial stage costings from stakeholders, developing customer facing material used for marketing services, as well as managing commercial and sales databases; analysis to improve processes, risk, and developing reports for Directors. The role will also include organisation of meetings and preparation of presentations. Whilst previous experience of administering bids, tenders and customer portals is certainly advantageous, it does not form the whole of this role, however working across internal stakeholders within a complex business, organisational skills, advanced IT skills and attention to detail is paramount. This role would suit an Executive Assistant / EA, Senior Assistant who is involved with sales processes / commercial process or a Senior Sales Administrator well versed in working across across a variety of stakeholders. This role would also suit someone ambitious as there is opportunity for this role to grow. Key accountabilities / responsibilities of the Business Development Support * Aiding the team in qualifying potential bids, discussing pros / cons with necessary stakeholders * Preparing, with the aid of the solutions and sales functions, the RFQ summary documents and recommendations * Frequenting customer portals and communicating key activity to the senior commercial team on tenders, changes to artwork or product composition * Building presentations in readiness for tender / marketing requirements * Compiling the final tender documents to submit to the customer * Assisting with the compilation of accurate cost models to support the tender * Regularly updating the CRM system to capture pipeline developments and opportunities * Analysing the success of previous tenders and bids, and using the information to improve systems and processes * First port of call for inbound new business enquiries, fielding opportunities to the Business Development Manager(s) * Resourcing / Administration * Liaising and working closely with the sales; solutions and wider senior operations team to help manage the tender process from end-to-end * Keeping a central database of all commercial costings * Managing the scheduling of meetings and output * Managing timely escalation of risks / issues * Managing a “success database,” showing reasons for success / failure and key facts / figures regarding the proposal * Developing and maintaining a central ‘knowledgebase’ of material that can be used during future negotiations * Developing reports for use by the Directors to track projects and business development activity Knowledge, Skills & Experience of the Business Development Support * Excellent organisational skills * Experience of working across a variety of stakeholders ideally to Director or C Suite level but this is not essential * Able to write technical documents in a clear and concise manner – NB; document information is collated from a library of standard tender details as well as senior stakeholders; you would not be writing tenders from scratch * Ability to use MS Office to a very good standard – with particular focus on PowerPoint & Excel * Used to working in a fast-moving environment, to deadlines * Great at deciphering technical requirements / information and comparing them to the competencies of the business * Able to manipulate data using excel and develop concise summaries / outputs * Experience of working in a business setting, ideally manufacturing, warehouse or similar This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious executive looking to develop their career in a commercial field.
