Due to business expansion, we are looking for experienced Vehicle / Coach Builders, and / or Allied Trades (Carpenters, Shop Fitters, Boat Fitters) to join our Company at our 46-acre railway maintenance facility in Eastleigh.
Previous experience in Rail Vehicle Refurbishment is preferred, but not essential.

The Company supplies many rail maintenance and refurbishment services including;
ยท Routine maintenance of a variety of locomotives, coaching and other stock
ยท Mobile services which are the most extensive in the UK including re-railing and heavy lifting and wheelset changes on site
ยท Bogie overhaul
ยท Heavy repair including collision repairs, re-wiring, interior refurbishment and overhaul
ยท Paint shop
ยท Rolling stock storage
ยท Workshop facilities to other customers
ยท Train stabling and additional related storage
What is the opportunity?
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with high attention to detail. The role involves undertaking the repair and maintenance of vehicle bodywork, interior refurbishments, complete re-builds, carrying out routine bodywork inspections and servicing. Tasks include;
ยท Visual inspection
ยท Condition assessment
ยท Fully comply with all relevant Engineering SOPs
ยท Communicate effectively with colleagues and leadership team
ยท Maintain and develop technical skills as required
ยท Record of Tasks carried out.
ยท Ability to undertake work safely and following industry best practice, client specifications and Industry Safety Regulations
ยท Any other comparable duties as and when requested
What Experience & Qualifications Do I Need?
ยท Vehicle Building Within Rolling Stock (Desired)
ยท Previous Experience as a Shipwright, Galley Fitter, Carpenters, Shop Fitters Outfitters, Joiner or Aircraft Galley Fitter.
ยท Demonstrate the ability to read diagrams and work to specifications
ยท Be able to plan and manage work load to ensure timely delivery on customer projects
ยท Be a problem solver
ยท Must be able to apply a working knowledge of mechanical equipment
ยท Must possess particular practical, productive and Vehicle Building skills
