The charity provides advice, support and emergency shelter to around 500 adults each year who are homeless, at risk or recently housed. A community project of Wycombe churches, WHC serves anyone who comes for help, and does not promote religion. However, due to the nature of the role and the organisation there is an Occupational Requirement in line with the Equality Act 2010 for the post holder to be a Christian. The WHC staff team includes folk from different Christian backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the charity’s marketing activities
  • Manage the charity’s communications officer and marketing volunteers
  • Contribute to the charity’s strategy as part of the management team

The successful candidate will be an outstanding communicator, familiar with relevant technologies and confident with handling financial and other data. He or she will be collaborative, energetic and self‑starting. At least three years’ experience are required in a similar role, ideally in the voluntary sector, with one year in a supervisory role. The ability to travel around the High Wycombe area, sometimes in the evening, is essential. WHC is committed to the training and professional development of its staff.
