We're one of the world's biggest dairy producers. Join our team in production making world class permeate powder, and you'll contribute to making food that is loved by millions. AFI Taw Valley produces 18,000 tons of permeate powder and 4,000 tons of whey protein concentrate using membrane, evaporator and drying technology. Our customers use the products as ingredients in foods and dry blend products, and therefore have high demands for quality, hygiene and food safety standards. Our whey raw material comes from award winning cheddar cheese made here at Taw valley.

This production operator role will involve a shift pattern of 4 days on 4 days off rolling rota (days only, 0600-1800) and 26.5 days holiday per year.

Responsibilities:
  • Stacking of 25kg bags using a vacuum lifter to prepare & dispatch pallets of demineralized 'dry blend' permeate powder to the expected quality standards.
  • Completion of a daily cleaning schedule to ensure our high care areas meet strict standards of hygiene at all times.
  • Daily completion of production and hygiene log sheets on MS Excel.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by raising near misses, risk observations, environmental observations and behavioural safety observations.
Essential job required training:
  • Manual handling

  • Food Safety level 2 with HACCP

Preferred/optional training:
  • Fork lift truck training (counter balance)
  • Bagging process equipment to provide cover when required

Must be computer literate and proficient in the use of MS Excel. Ability to self-motivate and take responsibility for own tasks. Ability to work in an organized and methodical manner, following company procedures. Key safe behaviours, see it, sort it, report it. Good communication skills and able to form solid working relationships. Attention to detail.
