How you will make an impact
As a Logistics Grade 1 Operative you will become a multi skilled operator and directing and guiding a high-performance team, supporting daily operations to meet short and long term site goals. You will be reporting into the Logistics Team Leader and working 4 on 4 off (days & night shift pattern) on a 12 hour shift.
Key responsibilities:
- Main point of contact for Logistics department outside of core hours (when on shift)
- Actively contribute to maintaining a healthy and safe working environment, following all safety protocols, and identifying potential hazards. Drive H&S by raising/closing LIAs and ensuring all colleagues work to SOPs.
- Execute and maintain rigorous hygiene protocols associated with food processing, ensuring compliance with food safety standards
- Work collaboratively with other teams to achieve established targets and objectives, contributing to overall site production goals and efficiency.
- Effective utilization of our equipment to ensure inbound and outbound accuracy.
- Oversee and support training and assimilation of apprentice intake
- Willingness to become a Shunter Driver (full training to be given)
- Become competent in SAP, Sharepoint, Notify, Power Bi, MS Office etc. (training will be given)
- Become area lead on all machines in all areas within scope of Logistics department (training will be given)
What will make you successful
Experience in a similar position preferred, although full training will be given.
In addition you will have/acquire the following skills:
- Ability to support a team and make decisions to protect quality and food safety.
- Ability to self-motivate and take accountability for own tasks.
- Ability to work in an organized and methodical manner, following company procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Team building and development
- Basic Logistics industry knowledge will be an added advantage (5S, Gemba, Kaizen).
- Train in: Food Safety Level 3, HACCP Level 3, Train the Trainer (Work based), Internal Audit Level 3

- Our Taw Valley Creamery was established in 1974 and it has been a significant site for cheese production in the UK. It has undergone various developments and expansions over the years to improve its capacity and capabilities in cheese making.
- We process approximately 1.2 million litres of milk daily; producing over 100+ tonnes of award winning cheeses, such as BOB, Castello Tickler, alongside butter and whey powder
- Our Taw Valley site has received c.£180 million investment to create a new mozzarella production facility, the 2nd largest single investment in Arla Foods UK.
