As a Production Operative, you will be part of a high-performance team supporting various functions to meet team and personal goals. Reporting to the Production Team Leader, you will work on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (days & nights).
- Resolve daily production issues and facilitate maintenance of process equipment.
- Operate, monitor, and clean processing equipment such as separators, cream vats, and pasteurisers.
- Maintain an audit-ready department, ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, food safety, and proper paperwork.
- Use processing equipment to produce whey and cream to high-quality standards.
- Safely unload milk deliveries.
- Dispatch sweet cream and whey, ensuring products meet specifications.
- Monitor processes to achieve KPIs, recording and communicating deviations.
- Collaborate with maintenance and team members to minimize breakdown-related downtime.
- Promote a safe work environment by reporting near misses and safety observations.
- Apply LEAN tools for problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Support risk assessments and standard operating procedures.
- Perform daily procedures, sampling, and testing.
- Complete MDE documentation accurately.
- Undertake mandatory and job-specific training to maintain skills.
Experience in a similar role is preferred, but full training will be provided. Essential skills include:
- Decision-making support to ensure quality and food safety.
- Flexibility to cover both sides of the shift, including holiday and sickness cover.
- Self-motivation and accountability.
- Organized, methodical approach following procedures.
