About the role
Arla Foods are actively seeking a Driver Trainer to work within the milk collection operation at the Inbound Transport Depot at Arla Foods, Lockerbie. The role is working a
47 hour per week on a Monday – Friday work pattern and it will be required to work a mixture of day and night shifts.
This role will include 26 days holiday plus Bank Holidays & company pension.
You’d be an integral part of the operation, working closely with management team to contribute to longer term business objectives.

Duties for the role will include
- Carry out driving assessments on all new drivers at Interview stage
- Driver Inductions
- Deliver Safe And Fuel Efficient Driving (SAFED) technique training
- EU drivers’ hours and FTA regulations
- Management of driver Infringements
- Health and safety training (i. e. manual handling, farm safety)
- Carry out risk assessments and safe systems of work onsite and at farms
- Training drivers on Bulk Farm collections in line with the driver handbook.
- Farm hazard awareness training
- DTAS (Dairy Transport Assurance Scheme) training and annual assessments.
- Carrying out annual driver assessments, identifying training needs and action accordingly.
- Drug and alcohol testing.
What you’ll need to be successful in the role?
- A motivated individual who has experience in driver training and also holds a HGV license.
- Enthusiastic about teaching others, able to find different ways to engage and educate.
- An excellent communicator, both verbally and in written form.
- Health & Safety orientated and looking to drive the H&S agenda on site.
- Fully literate in writing up Safe Working Practices and How to Guides.
- Fully IT literate with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Confident in presenting to groups in training scenarios.

Qualifications: RTITB trained in LGV Assessor Training, LGV Instructor Training, Yardshunter Instructor Training, (Beneficial but not mandatory) – Previous Experience in Milk Collection
