Location: London, GB. Arla Foods, Oakthorpe Dairy, N13 6BU. Senior M&E Technician. Work hours – Monday – Friday. 8 hour days.

What our engineers actually do

This is an opportunity to work at one of Arla’s flagship Dairies with state-of-the-art equipment and strong career development. As a Senior Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will support the site as critical on breakdowns and drive planned preventative maintenance activities across automated processing and packaging equipment. You will also be involved in continuous improvement (CI) and project work, contributing to Arla’s continued growth.

Equipment you’ll work on includes: Milk pasteurisation, homogenisers, separators process systems, filers, cartoners, bottle labellers, cappers, packers, blow moulding machines, weighers, flow wrappers, shrink wrappers, trolley packers; Palletisers, de-palletisers, conveyor lines (chain, spiral), robots (Kuka), vision systems, Spectrum TX rejection systems, and OEMs such as Siemens, Krones, SPX Flow, Elopak, ISOMA, Hueft, Nepas, Grunwald.

What you’ll need to be successful

• Time served / Apprentice trained / NVQ Level 3 or proven experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Strong experience as a multiskilled engineer (shift engineer / maintenance engineer / engineering technician)
• Experience in mechanical and electrical engineering within Manufacturing, Production and Process environments
• Ideally experience with fast-moving machinery, pumps, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics, three-phase motors, variable speed drives, inverter drives, sensors, relays, PLCs (Siemens), Site Services (steam generation plant, chilled water systems, compressors, processes), CIP systems (chemical cleaning plant)
• Computer literate – SAP, Microsoft Office, SCADA, Trend systems, HMIs
