As our new Production Operative at our Stourton Dairy you will play an integral part in the production of our fantastic dairy products which include Cravendale milk. Working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern rotating continental covering both days and nights you will monitor the running of our production lines ensuring key targets are achieved.

  • Our Stourton Dairy/Creamery was opened in 2004 and produces milk, creams, custards and cottage cheese.
  • Brands such as Cravendale and Arla BOB are produced at our Stourton site.
  • The daily raw milk intake at Stourton is 2.2m Litres.
  • The site has around 900 members of staff with 2 process colleagues who have a combined service of over 100 years!

About the job:

  • Full time, 4 on a 4 off shift pattern (2 days and 2 nights).
  • Daily operation of container filling/labelling machinery safely and efficiently to produce top quality products.
  • Report and/or correct safety issues. Maintain proper safety conditions of equipment and surroundings.
  • Perform quality inspections on materials and finished product. Quality checks to include, codes, seals and weights.
  • Responsible for proper and accurate product/package/code changes.
  • Perform all filling/labelling operator CIP duties and surface foaming with mechanical cleaning for all other areas in accordance with specified cleaning schedules.
  • Perform simple preventative maintenance, i.e. clean, inspect, lubricate and tighten.
  • Monitor equipment and process performance and correct/raise issues before they become problems.

What you’ll need to be successful in the role:

  • Good communicator with ability to understand instructions.
  • Previous experience in an FMCG or related company.
  • Food hygiene certificate.
  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent is desirable to demonstrate basic level of vocational learning ability.
  • Experience of SAP process order management and automated data collection systems i.e. SCADA, OEE, SPC.
