Arla Foods Taw Valley are looking for a responsible food processing operative who is interested in embracing a new challenge with a rare and exciting opportunity to join the Cheese Processing team at our Taw Valley Creamery. We are looking for somebody who is highly motivated with great communicating skills, who is happy to work within a small team and critical department of the business. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Operations Team Leader. Ideally with a minimum of two years experience in the food industry and has knowledge of food processes to enable you to make informed process control decisions.

Main duties to include:

  • You will be the lead operator within the department, overseeing the cheese making process and fixing any process failures.
  • You will ensure the quality and safety of the department and drive continuous improvement across the site.
  • This role will be working a 4 on/4 off shift pattern, which will include 12 hour shifts of both days and nights.

Key responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor machinery and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and address equipment and process issues.
  • Support functional descriptions and process documentation.
  • Lead and resolve process failures in production.
  • Optimise cleaning (CIP) and evaluate hygiene results.
  • Monitor KPIs, minimise losses, and report defects.
  • Apply food safety (HACCP) and hygiene standards.
  • Manage product recipes and handle nonconforming products.
  • Participate in Lean initiatives and team meetings.
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment.
