About Arla Taw Valley
Arla Taw Valley is a modern dairy site located in North Devon, surrounded by the beautiful countryside and the River Taw. The site was established in 1974 and has since grown to become one of the largest cheese producers in the UK, employing around 200 people. We process approximately 1.2 million litres of milk daily, producing over 100t of award-winning cheeses, such as BOB and Castello Tickler, alongside butter and whey powder. Our Taw Valley Creamery is to receive £180 million investment to become a state-of-the-art cheese production site across our cheddar and mozzarella categories.
How will you make an impact?
- Responsible for technical standards including Operator Asset Care in LCO Area
- Responsible for reduction of unplanned downtime (i.e. technical stops) through systematic CI work
- Responsible to enable and coach operators and technical operators in technical standards and OAC
- Contribute to a healthy, inclusive and safe work environment and role model our character mindset
- Ensure awareness and compliance
- Owns and leads weekly CI meeting related to unplanned stops applying structured problem solving and improvement tools
- Owns, analyses, and tracks asset maintenance data including data quality and completeness
- Ensures that the LCO areas improvement activities are quantified and reflected in the global continuous improvement database
- Owns plan for improvement of technical reliability for line(s)
- Owns Operator Asset Care standards and competence development in the Line Team
- Defines, process confirms, and improves technical standards including OAC
- Trains & coaches Line Team to ensure performance according to technical standards
- Initiates and drives the correction of complex faults ensuring sustainable improvements
- Gives input to content and frequency of preventive maintenance
- Role models by actively using data and deploying lean and APS tools in a structured way
What do you need to succeed?
To succeed in this role, you need to have a skilled technical education and/or equivalent experience, as well as knowledge of LEAN principles and data management. You also need to be a role model for using data and applying lean and APS tools in a structured way, and give input to the content and frequency of preventive maintenance.
