Our client is a leading supplier of print machines and consumables to a predominantly trade only market. Working with leading manufacturers from around the world, they offer a carefully selected range of innovative technologies, independently sourced inkjet media and unrivalled technical support.
Their large format supplies range includes inkjet canvas in polyester and cotton, backlit and colour separation films, FOGRA proofing papers, photo papers, pop up and roll up films, scrim vinyl banners, self adhesive matt and glossy vinyls, fine art papers, poster papers, lamination and mount films, as well as large format inks. Their display products also include canvas stretcher bars in a choice of profiles and roller banner stands in all popular sizes.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Assistant to provide exceptional warehouse support to the operations team. Reliability and attention to detail are the most important qualities for this role.
The role
You will support the efficient and safe operation of the warehouse, ensuring the right products are delivered to the right customers, on time and in excellent condition. You will work closely with customer service and courier partners to ensure smooth daily dispatch.
Key responsibilities
- Receiving supplier deliveries and checking stock against delivery notes and expiry dates
- Picking, packing and preparing customer orders for daily dispatch
- Using appropriate packaging for product size and weight
- Maintaining accurate stock records using the warehouse system
- Correct storage and safe handling of goods to prevent damage
- Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and compliant with Health and Safety standards
- Completing daily checks and warehouse documentation
- Liaising with customer service teams and couriers regarding orders and collections
- Driving a company van for local deliveries when required
- Carrying out additional duties as reasonably requested by management
What we are looking for
- Previous warehouse experience or a vocational qualification in warehousing and storage
- A reliable, consistent and proactive approach to work
- Good understanding of manual handling and Health and Safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic IT skills, experience using warehouse systems is desirable
- Forklift experience is an advantage, particularly narrow aisle trucks
The client operates two Bendi narrow aisle forklifts and is happy to invest in training for the right candidate who already has some forklift experience. A forklift licence is advantageous but not essential.
