About The Role

Ark Soane Academy is an Ofsted Outstanding secondary The Role: school located in Acton. The Art department is an integral part of the school’s success, in the first set of GCSE results, the Art department achieved the strongest outcomes of any subject, with a progress 8 score of +2.26. This success reflects the high expectations, ambition and quality of teaching that underpin the department.

Students’ enthusiasm for Art is equally clear. Demand for the subject at GCSE has grown significantly, with the number of GCSE classes doubling. With increasing numbers of students choosing to pursue Art at GCSE, we are now looking to expand our team and appoint another exceptional Art teacher.

The successful candidate will join a very strong Art department and will ensure that Art remains at the heart of the curriculum. The successful candidate will embed the school vision and support the development of an outstanding school that empowers our pupils to take responsibility and drive their own destinies.

We’re proud to share that our school has been recognised as a top-performing secondary school nationally, receiving a top 5% badge in Pupil Effort, Employee Agency, Inclusion, Leadership & Line Management and a top 10% badge in Employee Satisfaction in the Spring 2026 census with The Engagement Platform (TEP).

Benefits

  • Leaders at Soane prevent unnecessary demands on teacher time – meetings, marking and administrative tasks are minimised to ensure teachers can be highly effective. The curriculum and resourcing ensure that teachers rarely plan alone: staff time is used where it is most valuable: working as a team to implement the curriculum for the stud ents in our classrooms.
  • We have a truly open-door culture where frequent low-stakes feedback is the norm. We value the input of all of our staff and collaborate to ensure the academy continues to improve as it expands. We frequently host teams of domestic and international educators who come to learn from us and help us shape our provision.
  • Twice as many training days as standard
  • Weekly staff training designed to meet the needs of the school
  • Coaching for every teacher
  • Protected co-planning time
  • Access to high-quality, regular professional development
