Ark White City is looking for an ambitious and committed Graduate Co Teacher to join our team for one year from September 2026. This role will be based primarily in Year 6, supporting pupils in the final year of the primary curriculum and helping them to secure the knowledge, confidence and learning habits they need for secondary school.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate who is interested in developing their understanding of teaching and learning, and who may wish to move on to a teacher training programme in the future. Historically, colleagues in similar roles have used this experience as a successful pathway into teacher training and future teaching roles.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and leaders to support learning in class, lead small group work, deliver targeted interventions and help pupils make strong academic progress. They will develop a detailed understanding of the curriculum, particularly in reading, writing and mathematics, and will learn how excellent teaching, strong routines, precise feedback and high expectations help children succeed.
At Ark White City, we are committed to providing every pupil, regardless of background, with an excellent education and real choices in life. The Graduate Teaching Assistant will play an important role in this mission by supporting pupils to feel safe, known, challenged and successful.
Benefits include:
- Salaries 2.5% higher than main pay scale.
- Generous pension scheme.
- Access to Ark rewards – a scheme offering savings from over 3,000 major retailers.
- Interest‑free loans – up to £5,000 available for season ticket or to buy a bicycle.
- Gym discounts – offering up to 40%.
- Access to Employee Assistance Programme – providing free, confidential counselling, legal advice and a range of different support.
We are a primary school and nursery offering a great education for local children of White City. Our school opened in September 2023, bringing together Ark Swift Primary Academy and Ark Burlington Danes Primary Academy to create one, two‑form entry school.
Our new school is a brand‑new purpose‑built and modern building on the new EdCity site in the heart of White City. We have state‑of‑the‑art facilities including a roof terrace with growing gardens for each year group, a space for outside lessons and a high‑quality playground area. It also has a multi‑purpose cooking, DT, science and art room and a sensory room. The school has been designed with extra wide learning corridors which can be used as flexible breakout spaces from the classrooms.
Guided by our values of Excellence, Friendship, Courage and Determination, Ark White City Primary Academy strives to build a community committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. Our values are important to us and we will ensure that we promote them and recognise where others ‘live the Ark White City Primary Academy values’.
We aim to build a diverse and inclusive organisation where everyone – staff and students – can do their best work and achieve their full potential. We want to reflect and represent diverse perspectives across our organisation because we know that doing so will make us stronger and more effective.
