Role Summary
As a Legionella Consultant at Ark Workplace Risk, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality risk assessments, testing and audits of water systems in residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings across the UK. You will help clients manage their legal duties under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act, ACoP L8, and HSG274 by producing clear, practical, and technically robust reports.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Carry out Legionella Risk Assessments and compliance audits in accordance with BS 8580-1
- Conduct audits of management arrangements and planned preventative monitoring regimes
- Assess compliance with ACoP L8 and HSG274
- Review site documentation including logbooks, schematics, and written schemes of control
- Provide practical, risk-based recommendations to clients
- Produce professional, accurate reports using Ark’s templates and QA protocols
- Liaise with clients on-site, demonstrating strong customer service and technical competence
- Upload completed reports and documentation to our internal platform
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices
Requirements:
- City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Legionella Risk Assessment
- Strong working knowledge of ACoP L8, HSG274, and BS 8580-1
- Understanding of various water system types and associated risk factors
- Ability to assess and comment on written schemes of control
- High level of written communication skills with experience in technical report writing
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong interpersonal and client-facing communication skills
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
