An opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Ark Veterinary Surgery in Cheshire. This role covers approximately 41 hours per week; however, if you love the sound of working for us, then let us know what you are looking for, and we can discuss options with you!

This role offers a salary up to £65k FTE, depending on experience, plus benefits.

What I do ask is that the Vet can share in the weekend rota and be prepared to undertake our in-patient rota which is one night per week but more often than not, we don't have inpatients. If they can't work four days per week then I can obviously work with that.

Why us?

We are a two-site practice, based in Mobberley and Northwich, with a varied caseload where no two days are the same! You will be working with a fantastic team across the practice, including RVNs, SVNs and Receptionists who are passionate and dedicated to providing the highest standard of care. We have a caring, sympathetic and professional approach to working closely with our patients and clients, and this is reflected in all that we do.

You will be joining an experienced team of Vets who have interests in Cardiology, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. Our caseload consists mainly of small animals and furries, but we do see some exotics and wildlife cases too. You will have access to a range of equipment, including digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab including urinalysis, blood pressure machines, GA monitoring equipment and Tonopen.

The role

Our ideal candidate will be a confident all-round GP Vet, who is comfortable and confident working in sole charge, if required, and performing routine surgeries. You will be primarily based at one practice only, but with a requirement to work at the other practice, if required to help cover holidays, weekend rota etc.

The successful Veterinary Surgeon will have access to support from Vet Oracle; a unique range of digital teleservices, led by veterinary specialists and referral clinicians who provide interpretations and clinical advice in their respective disciplines; including medicine, radiology, cardiology, dermatology, oncology, neurology, ophthalmology, dentistry.

Hours and salary

Working hours are approximately 41 hours per week, with the shift pattern:

  • 8.30 - 6.30pm Monday - Friday (4-day week)
  • 1:5 weekend (Saturday/Sunday mornings 9.00-12.30pm)

Along with a salary up to £65k FTE, dependent on experience, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:

  • Holidays, pensions, discounts, parental leave, fee payments or share save schemes might be your priority.
