Working Pattern: Term Time
In this voluntary role, you will support students who have been identified as needing help with their learning. It is perfect for anyone wanting to gain experience in education ahead of a future career in the sector. You will work alongside teachers to support students (including those with SEND), using strong communication, organisation and ICT skills, while maintaining a professional approach and a commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students in key lessons in task completion and breaking down key information.
- Aid in the development of independent learners.
- Supporting students on the SEND register inside and outside of the classroom.
- Support the delivery of interventions for students on the SEND register.
Experience
- Experience of working with children of relevant age in a learning environment.
- Excellent Literacy skills in spoken and written English, equivalent to NVQ Level 3 in English.
- Ability to work unsupervised as a member of a team and meet data deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills both internally, with families and with outside agencies.
- Effective use of ICT to support learning – learning platforms such as Fresh Start, Lexia.
- Effective use of ICT to support students and colleagues – databases such as CCR, Bromcom and applications such as Word, Excel.
- Effective organisational skills used in prioritising tasks.
Qualification Criteria
- Qualified to degree level (ideal).
- A-levels or level 3 qualifications.
- Right to work in the UK.
