Our client, a well established and globally recognised events organisation, is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to support the continued growth of one of its flagship international Life Sciences events. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative, fast-paced business that delivers world class conferences and exhibitions across multiple industries worldwide.
The Role
As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue and developing strategic partnerships across a global portfolio. You will be responsible for managing the full sales cycle, from identifying new business opportunities through to closing high-value sponsorship and partnership deals. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Identifying, engaging and converting new business opportunities across international markets
- Owning full sales cycles for high-value sponsorship and partnership packages
- Selling exhibition space and securing sponsorship revenue from both new and existing clients
- Building and maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders including Director, VP and C-level executives
- Developing tailored, value‑led commercial propositions aligned to client objectives
- Managing and growing a pipeline of strategic accounts using CRM tools
- Forecasting revenue accurately and contributing to commercial planning
- Collaborating with internal teams including marketing and production to deliver successful events
- Representing the business at international events and industry engagements
About You
- Proven experience in B2B sales, ideally within events, media, sponsorship or exhibition sales
- Strong track record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets
- Experience managing full sales cycles from prospecting through to closing deals
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate at senior levels
- Commercially minded with a consultative approach to selling
- Confident working both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Experience using CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce) is advantageous
