The Hawick service provides support to individuals within the town, enabling them to live full lives and be involved in the local community. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team and promote independence and life skills to our supported people. We are actively involved in activities and groups in Hawick, supporting a wide range of people with their daily living. Your main duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Working with colleagues as part of an effective and efficient team to support vulnerable people.
  • Communicating and working well with our supported people to provide individual care and maintain appropriate relationships.
  • Supporting individuals throughout activities, providing positive feedback and encouragement.
  • Updating and maintaining accurate records using a tablet on the Arks Information Management system.

What is a Relief Support Worker?

As a Relief Support Worker, you will carry out the same duties as Support Workers while on shift. Since you do not have contracted hours, you have the flexibility to pick up shifts when it suits you.*

*Please note: Relief work is on an as-and-when basis to cover sickness, study leave, and other staff contingencies. Regular or continued work cannot be guaranteed as staffing needs change.
