Role

Ark is a major provider of Housing, Care and Support to people with long term and enduring conditions such aslearning disabilities, mental health issues, dementia and autism.

Ark supports people to live independently in their own homes providing everything from a few hours a week social andlife admin support to 24/7 care supporting with personal care, medication, household tasks, attendingappointments and leisure activities.

We have lots of opportunities across Scotland for our Support Worker roles. As we provide full training no previousis experience is required.

Your main duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Working with colleagues as part of an effective and efficient team to support vulnerablepeople.
  • Communicate and work well with our supported people to provide individual care and maintainappropriate relationships.
  • Being responsible in supporting individuals throughout the activities, givingpositive feedback and encouragement.
  • Updating and maintaining accurate records using a tablet on ArksInformation Management system.

Previous experience of the following is an advantage but notessential as Ark will provide full training: Care Worker, Social worker, Home Carer, Case Worker, CareAssistant, Autism Support Worker, Personal Care Assistant , Social Care Worker.

The Commission protects and promotes the human rights of people with mental illness, learning disabilities, dementiaand related conditions.

We have a varied and interesting role as a Medical Officer for the right candidate to join our team on a Permanentbasis.

The Medical Officer will be part of a multi-disciplinary area team and report to a Senior Manager. They will beprofessionally accountable to the Executive Director (Medical) for their specialty.

The post-holder must be a fully registered medical practitioner and hold the MRCPsych or equivalent or be eligiblefor accreditation as an AMP. They must have experience of providing medical psychiatric care and working in amultidisciplinary team across a range of psychiatric sub-specialities.

The role also requires excellent IT, written and verbal skills.

You must have an excellent understanding of the mental health and learning disability agenda in Scotland and thecapacity to influence and negotiate with high-level colleagues in the health, social care and voluntary sectors.They must also be able to communicate effectively and empathically with mental health and learning disabilityservice users, carers and advocates

Also, you must have experience in the application of, and excellent understanding of, mental health and incapacitylegislation in Scotland. Experience of working with Mental Health Officers and knowledge of their role isrequired.

About the Role:

As a Support Worker, you’ll work as part of a team in providing safe, secure, supported accommodation for the peoplewho use our services. You’ll do this by providing practical and emotional support and encouraging them toachieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives.

Main Responsibilities:

These Support Worker roles at Wemyss House involves working on a rota covering a variety of shift patterns betweenday shift and back shift, including some weekends. Both part time and full time hours are available. The SupportWorker will:

  • work as part of a team providing safe, secure, supported accommodation for homeless people.
  • support,review, monitor and evaluate through our case management system, to achieve a positive person-centred outcomefor the people we work with in line with organisational, statutory and legislativerequirements.
  • maintain and update all recording systems and documentation in line with relevantpolicies, procedures and practice guidelines, including the occupancy agreement, within requiredtimeframes.
  • provide, plan and facilitate key work meetings, key work sessions, meetings, reviews andother internal/external meetings in conjunction with the person’s support plan.
  • provide general advocacyand advice to the people we support, including assistance to enable them to meet the conditions of theiroccupancy agreements.

  • Ideally, possess 1 year of experienceof working with vulnerable people and challenging behaviour which can be from personal, voluntary and/orprofessional experience.
