We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and compassionate Support Practitioners to join our friendly team at our Peebles service. The Peebles service provides support to individuals within the town which enables them to live full lives and be involved in the local community. We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic individuals that are driven to promote independence and life skills to our supported people ensuring they receive the best possible support in their daily lives.
We support a wide range of people with their day-to-day living. Join our exciting team and help us continue to deliver a high standard of care which allows people to live their lives to the fullest potential. This includes days out to Edinburgh, Galashiels or wherever the supported person wishes to go; bowling, gym, swimming, cinema, holidays, weekends away, enjoying meals out, attending appointments and shopping.

Your main duties will include but not be limited to:
- Working with colleagues as part of an effective and efficient team to support vulnerable people.
- Communicate and work well with our supported people to provide individual care and maintain appropriate relationships.
- Being responsible in supporting individuals throughout the activities, giving positive feedback and encouragement.
- Updating and maintaining accurate records using a tablet on Ark's Information Management system.
As a Relief Support Practitioner, you do not have contracted hours. This provides flexibility, allowing you to pick up shifts that suit your availability. Please note: Relief work is offered on an as and when basis to cover sickness absence, study leave, and other staffing needs. We cannot guarantee regular or ongoing work, as the demand for relief staffing may vary over time.
In return for your valuable contribution, Ark will also offer you:
- Statutory annual leave paid monthly based on the hours you work.
- Fully funded PVG & 1st year SSSC registration paid by Ark.
