Support workers are at the heart of the service Ark provides, supporting people to engage with the lively community of Forfar, making the most of the activities on offer from sports and art to music and dancing. Our two services in Forfar have a wide range of ages of supported people from early twenties to late seventies. Most live in sheltered accommodation with their own flats and communal gardens and lounge area and like to live independent lives. We also have some outreach services, all have various health conditions and or learning disabilities. Our supported people love taking part in group activities and learning and are involved in speak out groups and voices groups. They love planning events and thinking of new ideas to raise money for charities which they have been very successful with in the past. They like to be involved when recruiting new staff and are always invited during this process. We have fantastic staff teams who provide caring person centred care to all supported people. Supported people all say they would like staff who are reliable caring and dedicated to enable them to live as independently as possible and so they can lead happy lives.
