Overview
To manage a small team of Embedded & System Software engineers. Working on new and maintaining existing product development in a multi-discipline team environment.
Responsibilities
- Assignment and management of appropriate resources providing motivation, supervision and guidance of software engineering staff.
- Supervision and policing to ensure adherence to current Huntleigh software design controls & processes.
- Collaborate with Engineers to create Software development plans, Software Specifications, Software Architecture Specifications, and be responsible for the upkeep of all Software Design documentation.
- Maintain awareness of software technology advancement and its application to products.
- Maintain understanding of target hardware/software interfaces.
- Advise on and implement appropriate tools for software development and maintenance, for example:
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery Pipeline
- Configuration management, Test & Analysis tools
- Compilers & interpreters
- Other tools for efficient software development & maintenance
Qualifications
- Qualified to degree level in software engineering or equivalent with a proven track record of managing a small software team.
- Experience in a medical software design environment or similar highly regulated environment.
- Experience of embedded & application development environment.
- Experience in C, C++ & C#, .NET Framework, WPF, SQL Server, Windows OS.
- Software version control and configuration management, e.g. Azure DevOps etc.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies, e.g. Agile.
- Familiar with requirements capture and maintenance tools, e.g. Jama.
