Working as part of the northern team, you will be delivering and collecting rental equipment to all hospital sites across the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with support across other sites. Some days may start and finish at the local site, while other days may start by going straight to the hospital sites. You will be responsible for delivering equipment directly to the wards and collecting any equipment that is no longer required.
The majority of the equipment you will be working with are pressure‑relieving mattresses, which are inflated on hospital beds, deflated by the wards, rolled up and bagged ready for collection. You will log all serial numbers using an iPad and iPhone, so a keen eye for detail is required. A valid driver’s license is essential as you will load your van at the local depot and work from it for the rest of the day, attending to any orders that come through. All installation requests need to be delivered within 4 hours, so you must have a methodical and practical approach to avoid long waits for patients. The van will also provide your travel to and from work, so you must have a suitable place to park the van at home. The role involves lifting, so you must be able to lift bulky mattresses for long periods. No experience is required as full training will be provided.

Due to the nature of this role, there may be a requirement to undertake work outside of normal hours i.e. evenings, weekends and bank holidays and participate in the “On Call” rota. You will be required to drive a large van and hold a clean driving license (held for a minimum of one year) and be able to route plan effectively.
