About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused LOLER Technician to join our Field Service team, covering Scotland. In this field-based role, you will be responsible for carrying out LOLER inspections on patient hoists, assisted baths and slings across hospitals, nursing homes and community settings. You will work to agreed service procedures and itineraries, ensuring inspections and service work are completed efficiently, safely and to a high standard. This is a great opportunity for someone with mechanical or electrical engineering experience who enjoys working independently, delivering excellent customer service and making a positive difference in healthcare environments. Full product training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out LOLER inspections and service work in line with company procedures, service contracts and statutory requirements.
  • Complete fault diagnosis, rectification and maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Organise and prioritise your own workload to meet service level agreements and customer expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to arrange visits and explain the purpose of work being carried out.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately using a handheld device and within agreed timescales.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, professionally and in line with Health and Safety, COSHH, infection prevention and control requirements.
  • Maintain tools, spares and equipment in a safe working condition.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations following customer visits to support continuous improvement.
  • Support other Service Engineers within the team when required.
  • Represent Arjo professionally at all times, maintaining high standards of appearance, hygiene and customer care.

What We’re Looking For

  • Mechanical and/or electrical engineering experience.
  • A practical approach to fault finding, problem solving and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both face to face and over the phone.
  • Strong customer service skills with a professional, compassionate and respectful approach.
  • The ability to plan, organise and manage their own workload effectively.
  • A willingness to undertake training and develop technical knowledge.
  • A commitment to quality, safety and compliance.
  • Previous experience working with healthcare, patient handling or lifting equipment.

Role Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • A valid UK driving licence.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to travel across the Scotland region, with occasional overnight stays when required.
  • Enhanced PVG clearance, completed at Arjo’s cost.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours when required, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and participation in an on-call rota.
