Position: Medical Delivery Driver
Location: Field based from our depot in Glasgow, serving NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and NHS Lothian sites in Edinburgh and surrounding areas.
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Shift pattern: Rolling shift pattern across three weeks:
- Week 1 – Monday to Friday (rest days Saturday and Sunday)
- Week 2 – Wednesday to Sunday (rest days Monday and Tuesday)
- Week 3 – Monday to Wednesday and Saturday to Sunday (rest days Thursday and Friday)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver and collect rental equipment to all hospital sites, primarily pressure-relieving mattresses, across the North Region of the UK.
- Load equipment at the local depot, drive the van to hospitals, record serial numbers using supplied iPad and iPhone, and ensure accurate documentation of all deliveries and returns.
- Lift bulky mattresses for long periods and use provided equipment to assist with moving products around hospitals.
- Adapt to changing orders and re-plan routes to meet 4-hour delivery windows and any urgent requests.
- Represent Arjo positively, building strong relationships with patients, nursing staff and other hospital personnel.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid UK driver’s licence (held for at least one year) and a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift bulky mattresses for prolonged periods.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work and amend route plans.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Practical and methodical approach to tasks.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with good communication skills.
- Willingness to work outside normal hours, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and to participate in an on-call rota.
- Required Enhanced PVG Scotland clearance (cost of Arjo).
