Role Overview
We are seeking an organised and tech-savvy Executive Assistant to provide comprehensive support to a CEO's day-to-day duties managing a small family-run AI/Tech startup and a local property development business. This is a dynamic, multifaceted role perfect for someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable working both alongside a lead entrepreneur and independently on minor research projects and other miscellaneous tasks. As the CEO is visually impaired, you will act as a key professional conduit—facilitating digital navigation, visual research, email and phone communications on their behalf; and general business administrative duties supporting the day-to-day operations of the company. The role offers c. 4-12 hours per week, with some flexibility in days to operate week on week. The role is strictly on-site due to the nature of the role in supporting the CEO with the limitations of their visual impairment.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Correspondence: Reading, managing and drafting emails via Outlook; including managing organised folder filing and identifying higher and lower priority items.
- Property Research & Analysis: Conducting independent research using Google Maps/Satellite view and Land Registry documents to identify and document potential site details.
- Planning Support: Navigating local authority planning portals and assisting with the submission or tracking of applications.
- Market Intelligence: Undertaking autonomous internet searches and market research projects to provide concise summaries on various market segments for the CEO.
- Meeting Facilitation: Setting up and managing digital calls (Teams/Zoom), attending meetings to take accurate minutes, and managing follow-up actions.
- Data & Filing: Maintaining organised digital file structures and utilising Excel, Word and PDF editors for basic documentation and data tracking and organisation.
- Technical Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and a high level of comfort with web-based research.
- Driving: You will also be required to undertake general, short journey day-to-day driving requirements such as local site visits or nearby appointments.
- Live locally: As the role is to support the CEO in his day-to-day operations and due to his limitations in ability to use digital communication due to his visual impairment, being on-site is essential for the role and there is no WFH offered.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who is able to support the needs of the CEO's visual limitations through narration and dictation of computer-related activities and communication. You must also be capable of translating visual data into clear verbal or written summaries. You should be comfortable working independently for periods on research tasks while remaining highly collaborative. Must be tech literate as you will be required to undertake computer-related tasks that the CEO cannot complete due to their visual impairment limitations.
Desirable (but not essential):
A basic understanding of the UK planning or property development process. Previous experience in a business support/executive or PA role advantageous.
