We are searching for a remarkable Assistant General Counsel to become part of our ambitious Privacy team, which is a critical part of our broader Global Legal Team. This role is crucial to upholding our dedication to responsible gameplay and regulatory compliance. What You'll Do
- Develop and implement comprehensive legal privacy strategies that align with our company's mission and values.
- Lead a top-quality team of Privacy professionals supporting our three operating divisions (spanning both regulated gaming and unregulated free-to-play social games), providing mentorship and oversight to ensure flawless execution of legal policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partner with our three operating divisions to integrate legal compliance into product development and business processes.
- Monitor and analyze legal regulations to ensure compliance with global privacy standards.
- Conduct legal risk assessments and manage legal issues.
- Train employees on legal guidelines and foster a culture of legal privacy awareness.
- Develop, implement and maintain appropriate data privacy compliance policies and templates in coordination with company management and legal counsel to enhance the company's ability to comply with existing and upcoming privacy laws and regulations.
- Respond to legal incidents and breaches with a focus on swift and effective resolution.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies when needed and represent the company in legal matters.
- Prepare and present legal updates to senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement in legal practices through regular internal audits and evaluations.
- Ensure that third-party vendors adhere to our strict legal privacy requirements.
- Stay ahead of legal trends and new technologies to proactively address potential challenges.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in legal privacy or related roles, ideally in the UK, US and/or Europe.
- Proven expertise in developing and implementing legal programs.
- Strong knowledge of global legal laws and regulations.
- Outstanding leadership and team management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully implement legal initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience within the gaming sector is advantageous.
- Relevant certifications such as CIPP or CIPM are highly desirable.
- An active attitude and enthusiasm for legal governance and compliance.
- Willingness to follow a hybrid work structure with 3 days a week in our central London office.
