We are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for running the day to day finance operations while aligning processes to Aristocrat Labs (ALABs) strategic objectives. The role is a key business partner to the wider Finance community and the Technology leadership team at Aristocrat.
This role works collaboratively across a wide range of stakeholders and has a direct influence & impact on the financial and strategic direction of the organisation.
You will participate in our exciting journey as we continue to build our teams and to optimize our tools and processes for a new centralized, cross-business unit, gaming technology development function.
What You’ll Do
Role and Responsibilities:
Successful operational excellence demands a few critical daily, weekly, monthly requirements and duties in the role:
- Analysis and provision of advice (& opportunity) through the proactive monitoring of performance.
- Input to the short term and long-range planning cycles.
- Create forecasting models to project future spend based on the product roadmap and known financial events and investments.
- Commercial business partner to the Technology leadership team to drive insight, challenge and partner to help deliver on the business’s commitments.
- Partner with the Director, Commercial to build up business cases, run due diligence processes and analytics to support strategic initiatives and closely monitor and manage investment spend.
- Financial Planning – Support in the execution of the quarterly forecasting process.
- Financial Reporting – Manage the reporting of monthly performance plans to the Technology leadership including the integration of both historical financial performance with forward looking operational forecasts. Create insight, exception driven and future focused financial outputs.
- Proactively analyse and look for improvement opportunities to enhance performance and improve the control environment.
- Liaise with key stakeholders to continually drive ‘value add’ and ‘continuous improvement’ across the business.
- Proactively manage cost base to agreed targets (headcount & $).
- General Accounting and Month End Close Process – Warrants the accuracy of the month end accounts and submissions to corporate. Define, own and co-ordinate on all daily accounting operations, including but not limited to A/P, intercompany, general ledger, banking and payroll. Lead and drive the accounting close process, including preparation and delivery of accurate financial statements for management, tax and statutory purposes. Preparation & review of various month end financial reports.
- Strategic Initiatives-Partner and support Director, Commercial Finance and VP, Business Operations as required to evaluate, model, present and track strategic initiatives.
- Report and analyse individual cost lines on P&L on a monthly basis, providing detail on variances.
What We’re Looking For
Required Skills and Experience
- Qualified Accountant ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Significant experience within Commercial Finance.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven proficiency in accounting and strong knowledge of reporting requirements.
- Ability to work independently and with ambiguity and across multiple time zones in a fast-growing environment.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills; must be able to partner effectively with all levels of the organisation.
- Solid working knowledge of finance concepts and internal controls.
- Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them through completion.
- Previous management experience preferable.
- Strong modelling and system skills (Excel, TM1).
- Ability to liaise with key stakeholders (VP & Business Partners).
- Creative, innovative, energetic and flexible.
- A self-starting individual, initiating action without the need to be prompted by others.
- Demand high performance of themselves and others, ensuring that goals and expectations are clear and met.
