Job Description

URGENTLY NEEDED

Purpose

To provide leadership and support for doctors in your allocated clinic, or remote, working collaboratively with other members of the management team to ensure provision of high standards of clinical practice and customer service.

Accountabilities & Activities:

Clinical Support and Management

  • Delivery of health assessment and private GP/primary care products
  • Provide clinical input into the review of customer feedback comments, complaints, incidents and risks.
  • Oversee the provision and clinical quality of health assessment and private GP/primary care products by the doctors within the centre or remote
  • To partner with local administrative teams, and Centre/Team Managers, supporting diary management and scheduling for optimal service delivery.
  • If issues arise (identified either by you or a member of your centre team/remote team) then to investigate, ensuring clinical safety is always upheld.
  • Conduct clinical audits as per clinical audit schedule
  • Lead on the implementation of clinical policies and procedures with instruction and guidance from the leadership team.
  • Support key policies including the Management of Medicines policy are implemented in your centre (or remotely where applicable) in relation to service line
  • Act as a key stakeholder to support the centre (or remote service) and doctors/primary care clinicians in preparing for CQC visits.
  • Act as a key advisory and support point to staff within the centre (or remotely), and other LPs – ensure clinical guidance is provided to all colleagues as /when required.
  • Lead on the delivery of mock scenarios and emergency clinical procedures within the centre
  • Support the Centre Manager/ Team Manager and centre team/remote support team to drive better centre or remote services performance on income, expenses, business and financial targets, and to support optimising and achieving these.
  • Provide advisory support to nurses during working hours when requested.
  • In exceptional circumstances provide emergency clinical delivery when needed.

Results management

  • Monitor and have full oversight of results management within the centre; resolve queries and assist with outstanding clinical work arising from local results tracking systems or the centre team.
  • Implement a local system to ensure the SOP is adhered to, ensuring urgent findings and results are dealt with in an appropriate and timely way.
  • Ensure systems are in place to manage results when requesting clinician is absent.
  • Carry out monthly reporting and further results management as required.

Clinical Team Development and Management

  • Responsible for sharing communications with the Doctor team in the most appropriate way locally.
  • Support role out of new clinical products or changes to products and processes, helping to allay queries and concerns.
  • Encourage learning and development in your doctor team, including CPD and training according to individual development needs and aspirations. Arrange doctor team meetings as specified by your clinical lead, either in person or remotely, ensuring all doctors and heads of department are invited, and circulate minutes within 10 working days to all Doctors and the Centre Manager/Team Manager.
  • Mentor and discuss performance with the doctor team, with each individual, regularly, drawing on support from peers and the Centre Manager.
  • Work with fellow LPs to share best practice and support colleagues in their roles.
  • Act as a key stakeholder in monthly LP meetings / calls, as organised by Associate Clinical Directors. Approve the clinical subject content of study leave for doctors.
  • Organise CPD activity either within centre, remote service or region on a quarterly basis.
  • Support the clinic's leadership team with wider CPD events, in attending and at times delivering sessions when requested.
  • Work on delegated projects such as policy writing, audit design, product development and act as clinical representation in governance groups.

Governance & Compliance

  • To ensure good compliance with key clinical policies and procedures, by the centre’s/remote service’s doctor/primary care clinical team.
  • Engage in incident reporting and investigation as outlined in our BHC incident Management and Reporting policy.
  • Support Centre Manager/ Team Manager in the management of complaints as per complaints policy. Escalate to senior colleagues where appropriate.
  • Carry out cross centre investigations as an independent investigator if required.
  • To be aware of Doctor responsibilities from the GMC Good Medical Practice guidance.
  • Comply with national guidelines and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to NICE and CQC.
  • Comply with Quality Audits and GMC requirements.

People Management

  • Work with the management team to determine competency of new candidates.
  • Provide a full and complete clinical induction to train new doctors into the centre or remote service.
  • Monitor and act on doctor/primary care clinician performance data, customer feedback and reports.
  • Partner with the Team Manager on people management issues relating to doctors/primary care clinicians where there are performance, absence, competency and conduct concerns.

Doctors reviews and appraisals

Arrange and undertake notes audits, and annual clinical reviews in alignment with the clinical review policy.
