Arise Staffing is currently seeking Family Practice/Primary Care Physicians in support of the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA (NMCP) and its associated Branch Health Clinics (BHC) and Tricare Prime Clinics.

Patient Population: Mainly Patients from age 17-64. Pediatric coverage is supported by a Pediatrics Team at each location, except the Northwest Clinic site. As a result, pediatric patient volume for this role is minimal and typically limited to occasions when the Pediatrics Team is unavailable or during weekend coverage (e.g., Saturdays).

- Tricare Prime ClinicâChesapeake: MonâSun 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Tricare Prime ClinicâSuffolk: MonâSun; 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Job Duties:
- Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF.
- Direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities.
- Examine, diagnose, treat or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of training, experience, and privileges.
- Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviours, and self-care skills through education and counselling.
- Order diagnostic tests as applicable as well as request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
- Technically proficient in directing and teaching other medical staff, providing educational lectures and participating in the provision of inâservice training to clinic staff members.
- Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities.
- Practice aseptic techniques as necessary.
- Comply with infection control guidelines to include the proper handling, storage, and disposal of infectious wastes, and the use of universal precautions to prevent the spread of infection.
- Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols.
- Operate and manipulate automated systems such as CHCS, AHLTA, ADS, Essentris, MHS Genesis and Clinical Information System (CIS).
- Attend and/or comply with all annual training classes required by the Command.
- Attend and participate in various meetings as directed.
Requirements:
- Education: Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada.
- Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).
- Board Certification: Be board-certified in one of the following: Family Medicine, Primary Care, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
- Experience: Possess a minimum of one (1) year of Family Practice, Primary Care, Internal Medicine, Urgent Care, or Emergency Medicine experience within the preceding two (2) years.
- Internship/Residency: Successful completion of an internship and residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.
- DEA Certification: Current DEA Certification.
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine.
- Certification: BLS and ACLS Certification from the AHS or ARC.
