One Quantity Surveyor, or possibly experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor role we have is with a well-established main contractor based in Brighton who are on the lookout for an ambitious surveyor to join their growing team. They work on all sorts of interesting projects across a range of sectors, including schools, commercial projects, one-off private residential schemes and a variety of local authority type projects, generally up to Β£5M.

This is a great role for someone with some experience who\’s ready to take the next step, with plenty of support from a down-to-earth, experienced commercial team.

What you\’ll be doing:

  • Helping prepare and check tender documents, cost estimates, and bills of quantities
  • With oversight from the department head, keep projects on budget and running smoothly
  • Supporting valuations and payment applications
  • Getting involved in variations, contracts, and keeping financial records up to date
  • Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and project teams to keep everything on track

What they\’re looking for:

  • Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role with a main contractor.
  • A good attitude, strong attention to detail, and a genuine interest in construction
  • A relevant qualification (or working towards one) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar
  • Someone who\’s happy to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in
  • Based within commuting distance of Brighton with driving license and own car
