Arise Recruit is working with a successful and growing construction consultancy based in Brighton, who are looking to bring an Assistant to Intermediate Quantity Surveyor into their expanding team. The company specialises in quantity surveying, project management, and related consultancy services, primarily within the hospitality sector — including hotels, bars, and restaurants. They are an established business that has grown by 50% over the last two years and are known for their experienced team, supportive culture, and hands-on approach to developing their staff. They work with some of the most high-profile hospitality clients in the industry and deliver development and refurbishment projects ranging from £250k to £10m.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in their career. You’ll be supported by senior team members and gradually take on more responsibility as your experience grows. You’ll be involved in projects from early stages through to completion, gaining exposure to both pre- and post-contract duties.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assisting in running projects from concept through to completion
- Supporting pre and post-contract activities
- Helping to produce cost plans, estimates, and reports
- Supporting the management of project budgets and programmes
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and the wider project team
What they’re looking for:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying (or working towards one)
- Experience working within a main consultancy or client-side environment. Main Contracting candidates with pre-contract experience will be considered.
- A basic understanding of pre and post-contract processes
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage workload effectively
- A keen eye for detail and a genuine desire to learn and develop
