An established and financially strong fit out contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team based in Mid Kent. The successful Quantity Surveyor will become part of a collaborative commercial team of five, with plans to grow to eight by the end of 2026, offering excellent long-term career prospects as the business continues to expand.
The Role
Working closely with the Commercial Manager and project teams, the Quantity Surveyor will take commercial responsibility for a range of high-quality fit out projects across the commercial office and hospitality sectors. Projects are predominantly located across London and the South East, although occasional nationwide projects form part of the portfolio. This is primarily an office-based role in Mid Kent, with site visits as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the commercial aspects of multiple fit out projects from pre-construction through to final account.
- Preparing valuations, applications for payment and cost reports.
- Procuring and managing subcontractor packages.
- Negotiating subcontractor accounts and final accounts.
- Managing project budgets and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
- Working closely with project managers to ensure successful commercial delivery.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous Quantity Surveying experience within the fit out, interiors or refurbishment sector.
- Experience delivering commercial office, hospitality or similar fast-paced interior projects.
- Strong commercial awareness and excellent negotiation skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
