We are seeking a Senior Space Utilisation Manager to lead the strategic planning, optimisation, and governance of space across a large, complex, multi-site estate in Sussex. This is a Senior Space Utilisation role within the property and capital development function, responsible for balancing competing demands, enabling major capital projects, and ensuring space is used efficiently, safely, and sustainably. You will play a key role in shaping estate strategy, driving rationalisation, and delivering data-led decisions that support organisational priorities.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Leading the strategic allocation and optimisation of space across a diverse property portfolio
- Planning and delivering space decants and service relocations to support capital and refurbishment programmes
- Driving estate rationalisation, improving utilisation and releasing value
- Contributing to estate strategy, masterplans, and site development plans
- Designing, implementing, and managing a digital space booking and utilisation monitoring system
- Producing clear, insightful utilisation and performance reports to support decision-making
- Leading technical space planning, including production of detailed AutoCAD drawings
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and industry best practice
- Managing the Space Utilisation budget and ensuring strong financial control
- Providing expert advice on space planning within business cases and service development proposals
What We’re Looking For:
- A Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience in space, property, estate or facilities management, surveying, or a related discipline
- Proven experience delivering complex projects to time, cost, and quality
- Significant experience managing space within a large, complex, multi-site estate
- Strong understanding of strategic estate planning and space governance
- Advanced AutoCAD skills, supported by a recognised professional certification (or equivalent)
- Confident stakeholder manager, able to influence at senior level and make evidence-based decisions
