One Assistant Quantity Surveyor role we have is with a well-established main contractor based in Brighton who are on the lookout for an ambitious surveyor to join their growing team. They work on all sorts of interesting projects across a range of sectors, including schools, commercial projects, one-off private residential schemes and a variety of local authority type projects, generally up to £5M.
Another role we have is with a building consultancy in Brighton. They are seeking Assistant Quantity Surveyors to work alongside their experienced Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers. You will work as part of a team delivering some high profile refurbishment and fit out projects for very well known clients on a national basis. The company have APC mentors in place and are fully able to support you obtain professional qualifications. These are great roles for someone with some experience who's ready to take the next step, with plenty of support from a down-to-earth, experienced commercial team.
What you’ll be doing:
- Helping prepare and check tender documents, cost estimates, and bills of quantities
- With oversight from the department head, keep projects on budget and running smoothly
- Supporting valuations and payment applications
- Getting involved in variations, contracts, and keeping financial records up to date
- Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and project teams to keep everything on track
What they’re looking for:
- Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role with contractor or consultancy.
- A good attitude, strong attention to detail, and a genuine interest in construction
- A relevant qualification (or working towards one) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar
- Someone who’s happy to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in
- Based within commuting distance of Brighton with driving license and own car
