Arise Racing is expanding and we are looking to connect with an experienced Number 1 Race Mechanic interested in joining a growing professional motorsport operation. As the official Radical Australia West partner, Arise Racing delivers high-level race preparation, engineering and driver development across national and state-level programs. With increasing race commitments and continued growth, we are seeking an experienced mechanic capable of taking ownership within a structured race team environment.

This role is suited to someone already working within motorsport or high-performance racing environments who is looking for a professional team with long-term direction. We are seeking an adaptable individual who is willing to learn, capable of working across all aspects of our race team operations, and able to perform effectively to tight deadlines while remaining calm and composed under pressure.

Role Description

A senior, hands-on position responsible for the preparation, reliability and performance of assigned race cars both in the workshop and trackside. This role is suited to experienced motorsport professionals with prior race team or high-performance racing environment experience.

Responsibilities include:
  • Complete mechanical preparation of Radical race cars
  • Acting as Number 1 mechanic for assigned drivers/cars
  • Trackside support including setup changes, diagnostics and fault resolution
  • Pre-event preparation and post-event servicing/rebuilds
  • Working closely with engineers, drivers and team leadership
  • Maintaining professional workshop standards and structured processes
Essential Experience
  • Minimum 5 years race mechanic experience OR senior-level performance motorsport workshop experience
  • Experience operating within race events or high-pressure performance environments
  • Strong understanding of race car systems and preparation standards
  • Professional approach with strong attention to detail
  • Capable of working to tight deadlines under pressure while maintaining accuracy and quality
  • Ability to remain calm, composed and focused in fast-paced race environments
Additional Experience (Advantageous)
  • Experience working with composite components including repair, fitment and general handling procedures
  • Light fabrication skills (basic metal fabrication, brackets, mounting solutions and workshop problem-solving)
  • Basic understanding of telemetry and data systems, including familiarity with motorsport data analysis software
  • Experience within Radical, prototype, GT, Formula or similar race categories advantageous
