We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead complex technology initiatives from early research and concept development through product launch and service delivery. In this role, you will coordinate cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and others, to turn technical objectives into actionable plans. The Technical Project Manager will also manage timelines and budgets, identify and mitigate risks, and keep stakeholders aligned. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, technically fluent project leader who can bridge business priorities and technical execution to help deliver advanced robotic systems and services that support the company’s strategic goals.
This position is based out of our new, modern location in Hinckley, IL and is eligible to work remotely (hybrid). Many of our teammates follow a hybrid work structure where they may work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific projects, tasks and personal work preferences. Working from the office is necessary for tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop implementation plans that include analyses such as cost-benefit or return on investment (ROI).
- Plan projects and manage execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope.
- Estimate time, costs, resources, and/or materials needed.
- Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.
- Provide updates to management, including the status of project milestones and deliverables.
- Initiate and/or review modifications to project plans.
- Confer with technical project team members to identify and resolve problems.
- Perform technical and project risk assessments to develop response strategies.
- Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Establish and execute a project communication plan.
- Assign duties, responsibilities, and spans of authority to project members.
- Guide technical project teams, setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
- Document project information in the approved manner.
- Analyze and process data.
- Submit project deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Facilitate meetings related to projects.
- Advise management regarding process and other improvements.
- Collaborate with engineers and others on a daily basis.
Required Qualifications
- Professional experience as a technical project manager (typically at least 3 years).
- Sufficient knowledge of technology research, development, and productization.
- Influencing skills which support meeting the project deliverables through the workforce of other departments.
- Excel in organizing, planning, and prioritising work.
- Time management skills which have been successful in managing your own time and that of others.
- Accustomed to complex problem solving; identification, information review, options development, and evaluation, as well as solutions implementation.
- Background in technology and/or engineering.
- Experience with data (management, analysis, etc.).
- Collaborates well with others - we work within our teams, across the organization, with customers, and vendors.
- Ability to translate complicated business requirements into multiple solution options and explain the benefits and disadvantages of various approaches.

- BS in Mechatronics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mathematics, or other related degree.
- A valid and current driver's license is required.

- Familiarity with software engineering projects.
- Experience with a tech start-up, other small start-up, and/or a matrix environment.
