Private Market/Funds Management Search - Finance, Accounting and Middle Office
Aria Partners is working with a reputable brand name in private equity to identify a middle office professional to take ownership of portfolio monitoring, valuations and support with an operational build-out.
This is a newly created, business critical role that is heavily front facing and the incumbent will be an active business partner to the investment team. The successful candidate will lead the portfolio function, helping to shape the infrastructure and processes that support performance analytics, valuation oversight, and operational excellence across the private equity portfolio.
You will work across the business, engaging with a multitude of different teams, including both key external and internal stakeholders. There is significant scope to add value from day one, implement meaningful change, and play a key role in scaling the platform. The position also carries future team leadership potential as the business continues to grow. Key areas of responsibility will cover:
- Create and manage regular reporting packs
- Track and analyse key financial and operational metrics across portfolio companies.
- Build automated workflows for consistent data collection and reporting.
- Reconcile performance data and NAV figures between internal records and external sources.
- Produce performance updates, investor communications, and board documentation.
- Assist with liquidity planning and long-term cash flow modelling.
- Manage onboarding of new investments into internal systems, ensuring data integrity.
- Assist with valuation processes for direct investments, working closely with internal teams and external experts.
- Maintenance of valuation models and assessment of valuation inputs/market data to validate assumptions and ensure accuracy.
Operational:
- Drive improvements in reporting, data integrity, and valuation workflows by applying prior experience.
- Collaborate with tech and investment teams to introduce tools that streamline operations.
- Maintain strong communication to ensure consistency in reporting standards and valuation assumptions.
- Promote best practices and mentor junior team members to support a high-performance culture.
- Improve and streamline processes for data collection, validation, and reporting to reduce the burden on investment teams.
- Liaise with external providers (fund admins, tax advisors, etc.) to ensure smooth operational execution and data accuracy.
- Serve as a key contact for investor operations queries, ensuring prompt and reliable communication.
Requirements
- Strong academic track record
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent) preferred
- Approximately 6+ years’ experience in a relevant role, ideally within private equity or a portfolio or valuation-focused environment
- Deep understanding of private equity fund structures, valuation methodologies, and portfolio analytics
- Strong systems exposure (with experience using analytical/data visualisation tools) and a process improvement mindset
- Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders
