A high performing private equity firm is looking to hire a Financial Controller into its London finance team. This is a broad and high-visibility role covering GP commitments and co-investment structures alongside group financial planning and wider group reporting support. The role sits within a lean finance function and will work closely with senior finance leadership, providing exposure to both the investment side of the business and the firm's internal financial management.
Responsibilities will include oversight of the firm's GP commitment and co-investment entities, including management and statutory accounting, consolidation into group reporting and monitoring investment drawdowns and distributions. The role will also be responsible for managing financing arrangements associated with these structures, including tracking drawdowns and repayments, calculating interest and monitoring covenant compliance.
Alongside this, the role will take ownership of the financial planning and analysis activities of the group, including preparation of the annual budget, reforecasts and detailed supporting analysis. This will involve producing departmental spend analysis, maintaining the group business plan and delivering detailed cashflow forecasting and liquidity analysis.
The position will also contribute to the wider corporate finance function, supporting the preparation of consolidated management accounts, board reporting and the annual audit process. There will be ongoing involvement in improving finance processes, systems and reporting frameworks across the group.
Required experience:
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience within private equity or a similar asset class within private markets/fund management
- Exposure to GP commitments, co-investment structures or similar investment accounting
