Aria Partners are working with a globally active, multi-strategy investment manager to appoint a Fund Controller into a new position. The role will sit within a growing finance function and will take responsibility for a mixture of private markets funds, covering a variety of asset classes. The remit is broad and commercially exposed, with close interaction across investments, risk, operations and external service providers.
Key responsibilities:
- Take broad ownership for the financial oversight of a range of investment vehicles, working closely with external service providers across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ensure timely, accurate and well-presented financial information is produced for internal stakeholders, investors and governance bodies.
- Act as a key point of coordination between the business and third-party administrators, ensuring reporting standards and service levels are maintained.
- Support regulatory, compliance and risk processes in collaboration with internal teams and appointed third parties.
- Oversee fund-level cash flows and liquidity considerations, supporting effective capital management across structures.
- Contribute to periodic valuations, financial close processes and external audit activity.
- Monitor financial exposures and controls across the fund platform, ensuring alignment with internal policies and guidelines.
- Provide operational and financial support around investment activity, including transaction execution and ongoing portfolio oversight.
- Assist with the preparation of materials for boards, committees and other senior forums.
- Play an active role in improving processes, controls and reporting as the platform continues to scale.
Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CA) or equivalent.
- Circa 2-4 years of post qualified experience working within fund finance, fund control or a closely related finance function. Both open and closed-ended structures will be considered.
- Background from an in-house investment manager, fund administrator, professional services firm or audit environment.
- Comfortable working with third-party service providers and coordinating activity across multiple stakeholders.
