Fund Controller, Investment Trust, 12 month FTC
We are seeking a commercially astute and technically strong Fund Financial Controller to join a prominent listed funds management business on a 12 month fixed term contract (starting October/November) to cover maternity leave.
This is a high-impact, senior finance leadership role offering broad responsibility across financial reporting, fund accounting and regulatory compliance within a unique group structure.
Experience in Fund Accounting is essential and any plc/listed funds experience would be the icing on the cake.
Responsibilities
- Lead the financial operations and NAV reporting for a listed investment trust, including valuations, reconciliations and performance tracking.
- Own the delivery of statutory accounts, half-year and full-year financial statements and investor reports in compliance with IFRS and FCA regulatory requirements.
- Technical Accounting Leadership: Provide technical expertise on complex transactions, new accounting standards and emerging reporting obligations.
- Group Finance Support: Collaborate with internal teams on budgeting, forecasting and the month-end close. Ensure consistency and accuracy across group-level reporting.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for auditors, board members, and senior leadership; must be credible facing off to a variety of internal and external parties.
Your background
- Qualifications: ACA, CA or ACCA qualified with at least 8 to 10 years post-qualified experience.
- Experience: Proven background in fund accounting, ideally within investment trusts, listed funds, REITs or similar.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of IFRS and regulatory reporting (FCA, AIFMD, MiFID II). Strong understanding of NAV processes and investment trust structures.
- Other Skills: Highly analytical with advanced Excel skills and a strong attention to detail. Able to work proactively, manage multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy under pressure.
